Professional yoga teacher training and continuing education
200 hours of theory and practice in four weeks: advanced anatomy, biomechanics and therapeutic approaches in yoga. For yoga teachers and trainers who want to deepen their qualifications, and for experienced practitioners who want to teach professionally. Certificate on completion.

Requirements
A completed yoga teacher training or at least two years of regular personal yoga practice. Please mention your previous training or experience in your enquiry.

12 hLearning objective: Understand the origins, development and aims of yoga and apply its ethical foundations to your own teaching.

- Hatha yoga and its classical texts, with an introduction to the Hatha Yoga Pradipika
- Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and the eightfold path (Ashtanga)

A2Advanced functional anatomy
30 hLearning objective: Understand the musculoskeletal system functionally and apply that knowledge to postures, variations and hands-on support.

Schedule
Four weeks, Monday to Saturday
8.5 hours of teaching Monday to Friday and 7.5 hours on Saturday. Sundays are free.
Focus of each week
Week 1: Foundations
Philosophy and history, functional anatomy of the spine and pelvis, respiratory physiology and teaching basics. Teaching practice: cueing single postures.
Week 2: Anatomy and biomechanics
Shoulder, hip, knee and foot; biomechanics of forward bends, backbends, twists, inversions and arm balances. Teaching practice: short sequences.
Week 3: Therapeutic approaches
Adaptations for complaints, contraindications and warning signs, the nervous system and stress, first aid. Teaching practice: classes for mixed-level groups.
Week 4: Teaching as a profession
Deeper work on methodology and communication, professional practice and ethics. Teaching practice: final practice class teaching a full session.

Certificate
Certificate on completion
When you complete the 200 hours, you receive a certificate from Auszeit Gran Canaria stating the scope and content of the training.
The certificate is issued by Auszeit Gran Canaria. It is not a state qualification and not a Yoga Alliance registration.
